Summer
Skating Day 1 of wearing your
brand-new skates and your feet are sore, day 2 and you're definitely hurting!
The boot hits your foot in a couple of tender spots. "Bunga Pads" to the
rescue! "Helping End World Pain", these amazing removable/reusable
footpads provide great protection without altering the fit. (I wish they'd been
around when I broke in my last pair of skates!)
Your feet start to
feel comfy, and training hits high gear. You really push yourself to make
progress. Lots of attempts at new jumps with added difficulty, and, surprise
surprise - another couple of sore spots! At Dress Wright we have a complete
selection of pads to protect all those vulnerable areas - like the hips, bum
and hands (Protective shorts and Touch Down hands or padded glove).

Summer Time is Training
Time! Summer is the time when lots
of skaters get the bulk of the coming year's work done, in preparation for the
competitive and test season. It's a great time to get new skates, because you
have extra skating time available to break them in. Talk with your coach about
recommendations. Then come in to
Dress Wright On Ice to get fitted with those new skates - still undecided
between Risport, Gam or Jackson boots, and "MK", Wilson or
Sterling blades. When trying those boots on, you know that they
should: - fit snugly around the foot - have a little wiggle
room for your toes - have great support at through the ankle and
instep Boots and blades bought at Dress Wright On Ice can be mounted and
sharpened at your favourite figure skate sharpener.
Tip - if your feet ache from
your new skates, after taking your skates off, run your foot over a golf ball
to help relieve foot tension.
Be sure to drop by to visit us and
get a better idea of the extent of skating supplies we carry to make your
skating more comfortable.
Feel free to email us at
info@dresswright.com if you have any
questions. We welcome your feedback.
Good Luck, Skate Hard - 'til next
time!
