September is "Think
Pink" month! |
And YOU can participate in one of three
ways! 1. Join our corporate team to raise funds and run or walk with us at
either the Burlington or Toronto locations 2. Sponsor our runners by making
an online donation, or signing up your sponsorship at the store, or with the
participating runner. 3. Make a cash donation to the Canadian Breast Cancer
Foundation but leaving money in the change jar at our cash desk!
Our goal is to raise
$5000.00. That means that if we had 50 people on our team, each person would be
responsible for raising $100 each. That seems like an achievable goal, don't
you think?
There have been so many
people within the extended family of our business that have been affected by
this disease. We are honoured to participate in this small way to helping raise
funds to Find the Cure.
Join our
Corporate Team: Just think of your training to run this 5 km
race as part of your cross training for skating! It's a great way to get your
cardio up for working on that long program run through!
If you'd like to join our
team, please contact Deanna by emailing deanna@dresswright.com or calling the
store 905-282-1555. Or sign up on line by going to
www.cibcrunforthecure.com, go to Register For the Run in
the left hand column and follow the instructions to join our Dress Wright On
Ice Team!
Team members 19 years of age
and over can earn free registration by raising $150 or more in donations. They
can choose to donate $150 or more at the time of registration and receive a tax
receipt.
Anyone who donates to you is
also eligible to receive a tax receipt for the amount they donated.
Team members under 19 can
register for free.
To make a donation on line
and get an email tax receipt, please go to
www.cibcrunforthecure.com, check the donation box in the

WOW!
Did
you know that the Disney movie ICE PRINCESS is now out on DVD!
And YOU can win one of two copies FREE! Click here
and fill out the attached ballot to have your name entered in the draw to
take place Friday August 19, 2005 at noon!
Step Right In! Don't wait till the last minute! September is just around the corner
and skating starts earlier than you think!! Avoid the lineups and the last
minute panic! Get your skates out and try them on now, or bring them
in for us to help you check the fit so you are all ready to start your new
skating season. Remember - your skates are your only piece of equipment, so
please make sure they fit well and are sharpened ready to start your skating
season. Please also remember that
fitting skates takes time. It's not like buying a pair of running shoes
so be sure to allow at least an hour. Tips: - Never buy skates
more than ½ size larger than your foot measures - other wise the skate
will break down too quickly and you've lost your investment anyway - Molded
plastic or vinyl skates are not recommended - they are cold and don't offer the
support that is needed. Look for blades that are screwed on rather
than riveted so the blade can be moved if necessary - If buying used skates,
make sure there are no wrinkles!
The
Wright Edge! We sharpen skates on site now! They
can be done while you wait, Monday - Friday 10:00 - 5:00 pm or you can leave
them over night.
