Welcome to All the First Time Skaters Single skate bags
are great for taking your skates to and from the ice rink. Be sure to include your skate guards, skate cloth or chamois
for drying your blades, blade covers (the soft guards that you
store your skates in to absorb the moisture and prevent chips if
the blades touch), and your warm mitts or gloves.
And a few Kleenex tissues are also handy! Remember – always walk with hard skate guards on – even if the floor is padded! You never know if you’ll step on something that might chip your blade. But never store your skates with the hard guards because the blade will rust. Chips and rust can only be fixed by having the skates sharpened again.

Importance of Volunteering Our sport cannot and would not exist with out the generous support of volunteers. There are far more volunteer positions at skating clubs, test days and competitions than paid positions. It can be wonderfully gratifying to get involved in the sport that has captured the hearts of the young people in our lives and to be involved with them. Check with your local skating club to find out how you can become involved. These young skaters are also thrilled to be able to give back to younger skaters through Amateur Coaching position in various Learn to Skate programs offered by clubs across the country. To stay warm while on the ice, think about the full zip micro fleece pants (Style 6P42) – easy to put on or take off without having to remove your skates. And of course to keep your feet warm, “Boot Gloves” the newest neoprene boot covers. Neoprene is the same material used in wet suits, so they fit snuggly, help keep your feet warm and great look!
